Rock n’ roll daughter Frances Bean Cobain is all grown up.
Courtney Love and grunge frontman Kurt Cobain’s only child recently purchased her own home in West Hollywood. She turned 19 in late August, having inherited 37 percent of her father’s estate in August of 2010.
Although both her parents were constantly in the limelight, Frances Cobain has shied away from publicity and only recently reached the public’s eye with a few modeling shots and an art show. Reportedly, she turned down the roles of Bella in “Twilight” and Alice in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.”
Frances was a little over a year when Kurt committed suicide in April 1994 in his Seattle home. After his death, she was shuttled between her paternal grandmother, aunts and her mother with several court interventions along the way. Due to Courtney Love’s hard-charging life, she lost custody of Frances in December 2009.

Frances’ home, which was on the West Hollywood real estate market for $1,890,000 and sold for a reported $1,825,000, is a white stucco, Spanish-inspired home built in 1930. The two-story home was built by architect Carl Jules Weyl and sits on a nearly quarter-acre lot in premium Los Angeles neighborhood of Hollywood Hills, a few minutes from Sunset Strip.
The 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home has 3,350 square feet of living space with many art-deco features including mosaic interlays, stenciled beams, leaded windows, and decorative ironwork. An updated kitchen features Viking appliances, a farmhouse-style sink and adjacent breakfast room. The master suite includes a separate dressing room, generous closets and tiled master bath. A detached garage has been converted to a space perfect for a studio or office. Gated and private, the only thing missing from this celebrity real estate retreat is the high-end pool and spa.
