Former World No. 1 golfer David Duval and his wife Susan, are reportedly downsizing, according to the Wall Street Journal.
You get to a point in your life where you try to simplify,” Susan Duval told the WSJ.
The couple have listed two properties — located within two miles of each other — on the Englewood real estate market for significantly less than their purchase prices.
They bought one home, now listed for $5 million, for $5,636,513 in 2007. The other property, also currently for sale for $9 million, was purchased for $12.35 million — a 27.1 percent decrease in price. The Duvals reportedly lived in the smaller home while renovating the larger one. Current median Englewood home values have decreased 10.9 percent year-over-year.

For Sale — $5 million
135 Meade Ln, Englewood CO
Less than two miles away, the Duvals’ other Englewood home for sale sits on 4.4 acres and is also designed to mimic an Italian villa with beamed ceilings and plaster and stone walls. This property features a large salt-water pool, 1,500-bottle wine cellar, and patio with outdoor fireplace. David Duval’s homage to his career is the large putting green with sand trap; this land sits on 2.25 acres and can be purchased separately for $1.1 million. Like the other Englewood home, this estate has more than 11,000 square feet of living space, with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Duval rose to success quickly on the PGA tour when he won 13 PGA tournaments between 1997 to 2001. However, after winning the British Open in 2001, he made a precipitous drop in the rankings, dropping to 80th in money earnings in 2002 and 211th in 2003. He is presently ranked 348 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Both listings are held by Rollie Jordan of Kentwood Real Estate.
