It’s hard to picture doughnut-loving Homer Simpson in a place like this 1920′s Tudor, pictured above. But, since 2006, the man who voices the famous yellow character has made this classic estate his home.

Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, is selling his Pacific Palisades home, trading it for a contemporary glass house a few blocks away.

Best known for his “d’oh” catchphrase, Homer Simpson has been voiced by Castellaneta for the entire 23-season run of the show. Castellaneta explained in an interview that Homer’s voice is “partly based on his father’s as well as the late Walter Matthau.”

Castellaneta and his wife, Deb Lacusta, who is an occasional writer for “The Simpsons,” purchased the mock Tudor home in December 2006 for $5,750,000 and are listing it on the Pacific Palisades real estate market for the same price. Despite the high-end area, median Pacific Palisades home values have dropped 3.5 percent year-over-year and are currently $1,450,800.

Built in 1928, the French style mansion was constructed by renowned Southern California architect Gerard Colcord. The 4,415-sq ft home has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and features original 1920′s detailing like arched ceilings, wood-beamed ceilings and leaded-glass windows. The backyard features a mature garden, pool and luxurious canopied gazebo.

Castellaneta’s new digs are a bit different.

According to the Real Estalker, he and his wife purchased the 4,166-sq ft modern pad, pictured below, for $5,700,000 in late April 2011. The single-story glass house has 4 bedrooms and a total of 4.5 bathrooms, including the bathroom in the one-bedroom separate guest house. Although the home has nearly all glass walls throughout, Castellaneta and Lacusta are guaranteed privacy behind thick foliage and gated walls. Besides, their high-profile neighbors probably won’t be snooping: retired boxer Sugar Ray Leonard lives next door, Whoopi Goldberg as well as Bill Cosby have homes around the corner and Steven Spielberg’s compound is across the street.

The only similarity between the two houses seems to be the large amount of square footage — plenty of room for Homer Simpson and his clan, as well as a huge collection of doughnuts.
