***Update: Listen NOW to the replay of the exclusive HREU and NAR event.
Breaking News, Important Announcement. ASDs and All Realtors are Welcome to Attend this Exclusive FREE Event.
Harris Real Estate University is proud to present this exclusive event, featuring National Association of Realtor’s Jeff Lischer. Jeff is NAR’s executive in charge of governmental affairs. He has become an expert on short sales and HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives).
The topic of this event is the new Treasury Department HAFA Guidelines. Being a Realtor is an honor, and being able to provide relief to distressed home owners in this market is what every agent must focus on. Experts agree that the real estate industry will experience this market – a market dominated by distressed sellers, for at least the next three to five years.

Let’s look at the facts. In January 2010, 29% of ALL sales in the U.S. were distressed sales, including short sales. Many are predicting that by the end of 2010, the number of distressed sales will make up over half of all sales. To put this into perspective, as we reported on this blog, the increase in REO listings will be 600% by 2011. There never has been and never will be a time when caring, competent real estate professionals are so needed by home owners.
The goal of this exclusive, free Harris Real Estate University / National Association of Realtors event is simple. The goal is to clear the air, dissolve the misconceptions about what HAFA means to your housing market, and clarify all the benefits for upside down home owners. Since early 2007, Harris Real Estate University has been advocating for short sales to become the tool used by brokers, agents and banks to provide a graceful exit from foreclosure for distressed home owners.
First and foremost, HAFA provides relief (a graceful exit), for home owners who wish to avoid foreclosure. The benefits, as we’ll discuss on this free webinar, to the home owner, are immense. There are benefits to agents as well. The fact is that helping home owners avoid foreclosure has proven to be an admirable and profitable path for today’s real estate professional. Never has there been such an opportunity for educated Realtors to help so many clients. In this market, agents who have the required skill and knowledge are making more money than ever before.

Agents who were average producers before are finding themselves on the path to being top producers by handling more listings, helping more home owners and having more closings than they’ve ever experienced.
Lets be clear, no one wants this distressed market to drag on. The best way to help today’s housing market recover is to help home owners one home at a time. If every licensed agent knew today’s short sale secrets, the months and years ahead would turn away from a distressed market and towards a balanced market once again. It’s our highest responsibility as real estate professionals to know every way possible to assist today’s clients and prospects. Learning the HAFA guidelines and how they effect home owners is critical knowledge for all Realtors.
